I have worked in Montgomery County for 28 years. I have been at East Montgomery as a Third Grade teacher for the past 20 years and have taught Second Grade since Fall 2014. I am originally from Upstate New York and have lived in Montgomery County for 35 years. I have daughter and a grandson who is the "light" of my life. Each day your child will bring home a take-home folder and an agenda that will contain your child's work and notes from school. Please sign the agenda each night as this insures daily communication between us about the progress of your child.

I will send graded papers home on Tuesday in a yellow envelope that needs to be signed and returned.

To keep you informed of our classroom activities and homework, you will receive a weekly newsletter of upcoming events, reminders, standards to be taught, spelling skill for the week and upcoming unit tests and benchmarks.

Communication between parent and teacher is a vital part of your child's education. I want you to be aware of events happening in our class. I also want you to be aware of our classroom rules/responsibilities.

  1. Follow directions given to you.
  2. Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
  3.  Raise your hand, and wait to be called on before speaking.
  4. When the teacher is talking, be quiet and listen.
  5. Respect your classmates.

We use a card system for our classroom management.

  1. Green - Great Day
  2. Pink - Warning
  3. Blue - Lose 5 minutes of recess
  4. Yellow - Lose 10 minutes of recess/Note home to parents
  5. Orange/Purple - Lose all recess/Call home to parents
